SayIT Mail Tracker Privacy Policy
VERSION 2.0 · LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2026 · A LEAF ORGANIZATION
What the extension does
SayIT Mail Tracker adds optional image-load, tracked-link, and explicit read-confirmation analytics to Gmail messages when the sender enables tracking. It also supports Gmail's built-in scheduled sending, local reminders, and local templates directly in your browser.
What data we process
Each installation generates a random anonymous identifier and a locally stored credential on your device. Our Cloudflare backend stores random email tracking identifiers, their owner account IDs, image-load and click timestamps and counters, and destination URLs for links users actively register.
We do not upload message bodies, recipient email addresses, or message subjects for tracking.
Local Chrome storage contains message subject labels, template text, reminders, and installation credentials. Network interactions may involve transient IP, browser, and request metadata handled by Cloudflare's edge infrastructure. To prevent mass automated abuse, a short-lived salted network hash and daily count are stored for up to seven days; raw IP addresses are not stored in our account database.
Purposes and sharing
We use this information solely to show the sender the events they enabled and operate secure desktop notifications. Cloudflare hosts the tracking API and edge database. We do not sell personal data, target advertising based on email data, or give advertisers access to message content.
Retention and deletion
Individual event log rows are scheduled for automatic deletion after approximately 60 days; aggregate tracker counters and identifiers remain until removed by the account holder.
You can use Dashboard → Account & alerts → Delete account to remove server account records and associated trackers. Deleting an individual tracker removes its backend records immediately. Uninstalling the extension alone does not delete server records; local data can be cleared using Chrome's extension storage management.
Tracking limitations and recipients
An image request does not guarantee that a human read the message. Images may be blocked, pre-fetched, or proxied by email clients. Clicking the read-confirmation button is a distinct, intentional recipient event, and tracked links log their own redirects. Ordinary plain-text clicks cannot be measured. Senders are responsible for any notice or consent required by law or recipient expectations.
Security and your choices
All communications use HTTPS and installation secrets. Accounts are isolated by owner identity. We limit server record creation and event rates to reduce abuse. Do not enable tracking for recipients or jurisdictions where such tracking is restricted or prohibited.
